Bioabundance Comments on the Joint South and Vale Local Plan.

Bioabundance agrees with the Vision and Objectives of the Joint South and Vale Local Plan but emphasises that Zero carbon, nature restored and the wellbeing of future generations, are key to the interests of Bioabundance Community Interest Company (170 members including parish councils and other community groups, predominantly in South Oxfordshire). Meeting these needs is hugely challenging for the Districts. The vision must focus on achieving the objectives by the Districts rather than a less specific ‘contribution’ to projects on an ‘international scale to solve pressing global issues’. We would suggest the Plan should achieve the highest net gain in biodiversity possible rather than allow an arguable term ‘viable’ to pit nature against developer-profit.
